I was not fully aware of this either! I had assumed ball=bull nose
bits.

just so i know I have it correct now-
"bull"= radiused corners
"ball"= bull nose with a radius matching that of the bit (thus a
full "ball").
what is the proper name for bits that have a literal BALL on the end
which is larger than the shank of the bit?? typically seen on dremel
tools.
