The cheapest retrofit is to use a PC with the program of your choice and
Gecko 201A stepper drives. Depending on the exact model, you may
be able to re-use the power supply from the BOSS. Signals from the
PC's parallel port are connected to the Gecko drives. The Gecko drives
are rated to 7 A, but this seems to be auddicient for these motors.
