Hi there.
If you can find a DOS program to set VESA modes, and you can set up the
CNC software to work in 800x600 graphics mode, then it may work.
The VESA 800x600 16 color mode is 0x102 (that's 102 hex), VESA 800x600
256 color mode is 0x103.
I'm not sure there is a utility that runs on DOS 3.3 to do this,
though. There are a bunch of programs that might work listed here:
http://www.opus.co.tt/dave/utils.htm - search within the page for VESA.
(SciTech Display doctor may be just the ticket, if it runs on DOS 3.3)
Or (as I think Jon was saying), you may be able to set the monitor to
expand any mode to fit the screen. If it's a complete monitor, it
should have this mode. If it's a component (ie, no case - meant to be
used inside a machine), there may be no way to set this. You will get
weird artifacting fromthe expansion - either every 4th pixel will be
duplicated to make 5 (makes things look chunky), or every 5 pixels will
have one that is the average of the one to its left and right (makes
things look a little blurry).
Hope this helps
