It may sound funny to new members, but actually using the machines,
ie: feeds and speeds is not an ON-topic discussion.
Since we do discuss how to build and design the machines, it seems
that the next logical step is how to use them.
And, it is... But, like graduating from High School, moving on to
Collage is the nest logical step.
If you are there, then congratulations from all of us. Some people
put the number at 1% of those who hope and plan as compared to those
who build and finish the machines.
One reason is the resources of the group. If you are designing the
controllers or drivers or frames or axis or screws or nuts (etc,
etc) the depth of knowledge of this group is vast.
But, if you are running a Bridgeport or Sherline or Plasma or EDM, or
lathe or pcb etcher or wire cutter...... you an see the breadth of
machines we discuss.
Well, each type has a specific users group of experienced users who
can comment the tips for those machines.
If you have graduated to that level, we can't be happier for you. We
do ask for pictures so the rest of us get that shot in the arm that
someone actually gets the job done. : )
But, the questions about how to run the machines are for other
groups. rec.metalcrafters maybe ?
If you have a machine or topic-specific list or group you think is
something others would benefit from, let us know and we'll post it in
the links section.
