I didn't know jack about any of this a year ago. But...I managed to
get it working on the bench so far. Still building mounts for my BP-
J. Mine is still all manual. So the secret sauce for me is Mach3,
Sound Logic Break Out Board from Bob Campbell, and the Gecko Drives.
I see that combo often. It's apparently a proven mix for a wide
variety of motors and machines. Plenty of people are using the Rutex
drives too.

I was really worried about getting the motors to behave. I winged it
with some servos of e-Bay. I scratch built my power supply. So far so
good. With the information here and DIY-CNC I bet you can get it
going.
