Ron: These two numbers mean nothing so far as VA is concerned. I posted
somewhere else, so part of this may be redundant: You have finally stated that
this core is 2.3" x 2.3". That is about 5.3 sq.in. core-cross-sectional
area. My chart shows this would be around 750 VA. With 46 VAC, assuming the
copper wire is LARGE enough, the available current should be, then, 750/46=16+
amps. Can you measure the copper of the secondary? It should be #8; maybe
only #9 for that size and current.
