Hi Luke

At the grub boot screen, type in "linux S" wait for the system to boot. This
will put you in single user mode in text mode. "nano /etc/X11/XF86Config-4"
will launch a simple text editor and allow you to change the settings.
Section "Monitor", HorizSync and VertRefresh are the ones you probably want
to adjust. Resolutions are defined in the Section "Screen".
