Look at Ron Ginger's homepage, you can mount the X motor on the left end, the
Y axis out the back, and use belt drive to the Z axis, and also get more
torque, for the Z axis. This way you can use single ended shaft steppers, and
still retain the handwheels. I also like the fact that the
stepper/handwheels are at opposite ends, and are not as awkward as when they
are on the same end.
