Same with Kodak. I use NiMh batteries with a fast charger for portable use and
an AC adapter for "studio" use.

AFAIK, all digital cameras make extreme demands on the power source, the
Kodak model has a backlit LCD panel as well as a 50MHz Power PC chip inside.
