I think I know the stuff.... The bespoke bellows do seem to have large
"expansion ratios" though. 10:1 seems a minimum..
I still like the idea of making the spring steel coil thingy out of
plastic..

A product that would serve well enough in a pinch but is quite a bit over
large diameter, is the flexible , collapsable sewage hose for an RV..They
cheap enough. Wouldnt hold up to any hot metal chips landing on it but would
do good job keeping sawdust off the ballscrews...I mention it as it might
make you think .
