MAGIC SMOKE Xylotex drives

I guess I was not clear, it is the Xylotex drives that are blowing when I
either turn the power on or off, from what I can guess.
The switching power supply is rated at 24 volts/10 amps, and is rock solid.
My question that apparently threw everyone off, is should I add a couple of
caps on the output, I will do this, at least enough to stop any switching
spikes when it is switched on.
The lathe was running well when I put it away for the remodeling, finally
got some time and dug it out, and promptly lost two drives. The steppers are 8
wire, hooked up in a parallel coil configuration. I plan to change that to
series to bring the current required down also. I should be within the
Xylotex ratings, as it is wired.
Thanks all for your comments.
thanks,
bill
