Hi Bill,
No offence taken. It's a replacement for or supplement to the gears of a
lathe. My southbend does't tell me how far to move the X either. My
Gingery Lathe has no gears but can now cut metric and imperial threads along
with an large number of turning feed rates. So as it sits now, even without
powered X or instructions on how far to turn the X, it's very useful.
And on the Gingery, <GRIN>, since I haven't gotten around to making any kind
of dial on the X axis or the compound, even if it did tell me how much to
turn the handle, I wouldn't have a clue as to how correct I was. I just
guestimate as it is at the moment.
Too many projects, too little time. At least I finally a new vinyl deck
covering down. Now just finish the siding.... Sigh....
