YEEOW! Those manuals were totally awesome, and you're right, nothing
I've seen in
the past 30 years even comes close.

Allen-Bradley also made some REALLY good manuals, back in the days of
the 7320 control.
I had a guy ship me a 7320 in 3 big boxes, with the factory manuals. I
had the control
repaired and running test programs in a week, having never seen a 7320
before. I did
have a LOT of minicomputer experience, though. The theory sections of
their manuals
were some of the best I've ever seen.
