Mariss,
I was using a 15k resistor as the white paper said to use half the current. I must've misread that. The problem was the jumper on the Breakout board was set common to ground instead of 5v.
Anyways, What a difference!! Almost three times as powerful! Man these are nice drives. It's so quiet, I didn't even know it was running. I'm still checking things with a meter and hit the jog key for the hell of it and away it went.
