I am also an advocate of Servo's, and most of my larger machines have DC
servo's, but stepper have their advantages.

Oneday when Mariss, Steve.H and Art have the "unstallable stepper" thing
working, then we can compare it more closely ;-)

Hmm. Just looked at that. Very good effort, but 25Khz step frequency?
Mach can do that under Windows, through a Parallel port in it's sleep.
My VMC is running under Mach3 control at 35Khz. (over 200"/min on steppers)
