Oh, I think that will work, but it is overkill for use with Gecko
drives. They
can't use differential signals, and the 2000 cycle/rev encoder will give
8000
quadrature counts per rev. Since the Gecko can only take 250,000
counts/second,
that will limit the motor to 1875 RPM, which doesn't sound too bad.
But, if your computer can only output, say, 50,000 step pulses/second, then
you are limited to (50000/8000) * 60 = 375 RPM. That is going to be a
bit of a
problem, I think.
