Re: Epoxy nut ? Graphite??

Recently I have seen a few people mention graphite in moulded nuts. I
know graphite is sometimes used in lubricants but at the same time
graphite powder is rather hard and abrasive, I can see it would
improve the strength of the nut but I'm surprised it has positive
effects on the screw's wear.

Does it reduce friction and wear or is it just for strength or is it
just that the nuts work well enough for the average nut moulder who
doesn't fancy the cost of moglice?

A homebrew recipe for a decent moglice subs would certainly be very
interesting and could definitely open some doors for home building, it
has to be possible. Anyone an altruistic chemist or materials
scientist? :)
