First check to see if there is a physical input-output port ( usually either
a 9 pin or 2? pin serial port ) somewhere on the machine sheet metal, or
under a guard lid ........ usually there is.

It is also possible that there is only just a drive itself.

***********
If a serial port is available, they could run a remote computer to write to
the machine run memory direct, or possibly just to the write routines for
the floppy drive ( or hard disk, if such )

If no serial port is found, it could be just so simple as editing in a
program on the floppy with your computer ( word, notepad ... ) and then
just sticking the floppy in the drive, and there will be some
instructions/code to make the machine transfer the floppy coding into real
time computer run memory.

Also some directions to save the program in the machine memory back to the
floppy disk, as the case when the onboard program is edited a little to
correct some cut. Usually it is also possible to put the onboard tool
offsets onto a floppy also.

Not too likely that the machine runs from the floppy constantly, which is "
streaming" code. Possible, but that is not the most desireable thing to do.
I have one rig that does this, but it is unhandy, and is an " after-tape
reader " for an older hardinge hnc/ ge 550 controller.

Hope this helps; oh, also, you probably can google up the original
directions for that machine, this is always a good idea... heh heh, to read
the directions.
