I'm sure Bill is going to scream at us any moment now, but I'm not
talking about postal money
orders. I am saying that a number of the smaller surplus vendors in the
US will not ship overseas,
or even to Canada!

A 1 KVA power transformer will weigh 50 Lbs, bare. Properly packed, it
will be 70+ Lbs.
I don't think US mail will accept a package of that weight for air mail,
and even the surface
rate for overseas will be very expensive. I ship CNC servo motion
systems all over the
world, so I have some idea of the postal rates. In fact, I just sent
the other part of this
gentleman's hardware to him in Finland. It was no more than 15 Lbs, and
the Fed Ex
rate was $98. We tried to ship it by US Post air mail, but they told us
they would not
insure it for full value. I still don't understand the details of that
little bit, but I
changed shippers for that reason.
