I wouldn't be hasty to part with the drives...

What do the drives require from the control system? Step/dir or
analog voltage? Where is the feedback loop closed? (In the drive
itself, or by using some external control card?)

Either way they likely "can" be used with Mach. You might need an
interface card. Depends upon the drive spec's. Which model numbers
do you have?
