Hello,
That sounds like an excellent plan. A simple script/utility to do
basic translation of XY coords into steps needed will allow you to
keep the 90V, 5A microstepping drivers. Don't be in a big hurry to
ditch those, IMO!
Until you get to needing co-ordinated moves for continuous toolpath
cutting, they'll be fine. (Even then, some exploratory S/D
and/or "sugery" might be worth doing<G>...) But that's for later.
FWIW, using absolute distances for your co-ords will usually get a
newbie into less trouble than using incremental positioning. A good
habit to begin now, IMO.
Hope this helps,
Ballendo
P.S. Which plans to get depends up on type of work that you're
planning to do! Size and type of material, quantities of work, etc.
Without that info it's just about impossible to make a decent
suggestion for a plans source.
