Yes, very dangerous.

The reply was to the person that wanted a laser to remove material to
balance a small thin metal disc. My intent was to provide a laser that I
thought he might be able to afford. When I get my (soon to be fabricated)
CNC running, I intend to build something like this with multiple laser
diodes in a ring and a set of convergent optic (like this from Edmund

ue) to focus 8 or 10 units on a single spot to get enough watts of power to
poke holes in metal.

Hello,

I need to balance a tiny gyroscope disk ( about 50 mm diameter ) and I
would need a laser for this. The disc has a sharp edge at the exterior
( so I won't need lasers to cut very thick steel sheets ). My problem
- where I can buy such a laser and what would be a good choice for this?
