yes! you should always wear eye protection when around lasers.
lasers of that power can cause permanent damage in less time than it takes
you to blink your eyes shut, even from an accidental reflection. also make sure
other people can't walk into the room without eye protection because they
could get blasted with a stray beam too.

would need a laser for this. The disc has a sharp edge at the exterior
( so I won't need lasers to cut very thick steel sheets ). My problem
- where I can buy such a laser and what would be a good choice for this?
