The VFD (4,500 rpm max spindle speed) is standard on the Tormach. I
quess the price included a stand/enclosure with coolant, maybe a 4th
axis and probably some other stuff. A bare bones machine is USD 6,800.
SmithyCNC or Industrial Hobbies are also possibilities.

I bought a Tormach 2 years ago. I had no previous hands on cnc
experience (only reading) but had it making parts 2 hours after taking
it out of the box.
