Also, the program at BTC is a precision machining program that runs two to
three years. I met with the instructor before the semester and asked if I
could put together a custom program and he said sure. He had me sharpening
lathe bits, melting machinable wax, cleaning up, etc... for the first week
or so but once he saw that I knew my way around a shop, he started me in on
some very intensive G Code classes.

Spent the first month just generating two-dimensional G Code by hand and his
plans always left out some dimensions -- trig was needed to complete the
exercise.

A very grueling and very fun time! My Mom's health crashed nine months into
the year so I had to drop out but planning to start again this fall. They
also have a small foundry and want to learn that too...
