I think. If you don't need real time, it's a very small difference in a few
things deep in the system. But, of course, the real time patches ARE
deep in the kernel. If you have a good internet access, you can download
a kernel upgrade package in a few minutes. If you have a slow modem,
you will not want to try that. The upgrades are on the Red Hat web site,
among others. The manuals, however, have very little change.
