Make and Patch are listed as included in the Workstation and Server install,
but not as part of the Base install. Base is what you get to start with in
the Custom install. This mean that if you choose Custom and don't pick the
correct development package you will not get either Make or Patch.
As I mentioned earlier, I have been playing to try and find what is the
minimum required that is easy to do that will allow you to get enough Linux
installed to allow a successful EMC install. I am not quite ready to say
that this is definitive, but it is looking as if you do the following you
will be in OK shape:
Workstation install
Add the following packages:
Base/Kernel/ everything
Development/Building/Libtools
X11/gnome/gnome-libx-devel
I am not really sure if you need the last 2, but on the install I did that
way I was successful in applying the RT patch and compiling the kernel.
