One thing: You'll have to customize these files and everyone has had a lot of
trouble at this point for reasons we don't fully understand. It seems to be
related to what editor you use to modify the script files and I strongly
suggest you use emacs as that is what I've used with success.

You set this up in a program called netcfg which you can enter at the command
line or start by pressing the 'Network' button on the control-panel in X when
you are logged in as root. Go to the 'Interfaces' tab and add a ppp
interface. 'Edit' it to add the phone number, login name, password, etc. As
with everything Linux you'll have to fool with it a bit (!) to get it going,
but I've done it and so can you.

You need to configure the kernel to support your card. See the various Sound
HOWTOs in /usr/doc for more details. Mine's never made a noise either, but I
don't have any speakers plugged in either ;)
