Alan,
The nuts I have purchased were shipped off the screws. They were packed with
a cardboard tube having an OD equal to the screw root diameter running
through the nut to hold the bearings in place. To put it on a screw you just
push the end of the screw against the cardboard tube and start screwing the
nut onto the shaft and let the shaft push the tube out. Removing the nut is
just the reverse of the same process.
Of course there is another option. Just let the balls fall out into a dish
and learn to reload the nut on assembly.
