Have you checked out Camtronics? http://www.seanet.com/~dmauch/ They
have some very powerful steppers at what look to me like very reasonable
prices. 785 oz-in for $209, for instance. And of course they have the
controllers, too.
PS Camtronics, and everyone else, please add a meaningful title to your
website. It is very annoying to try and find you in my saved links when
I have a dozen sites titled "Home Page" or nothing at all.
I'm fortunate in that I have Harbor Freight, Camtronics, Boeing Surplus,
C&G Research, etc. all within an hour of my home.
I am going to start with something small and simple for a start, and
hopefully learn something on the way. My first project will probably be
built from printer parts and only be capable of materials like foam,
wax, and balsa. I hope to be able to use it to make some money with it
in my digital photography and collectibles businesses.
