More thing to try.
Are you sure your jumper settings are correct. Give me the make and model
and I can look them up.
Connect up the hard drive and boot from a floppy, any version of DOS 3.x to
6.22 or use your Win9x install floppy.
If using Win9x floppy hit shift + F5 which will drop you to a DOS prompt.
Make sure you have the FDISK program on the floppy.
run FDISK and see if it sees the hard drive and if so what partitions are on
it.
