Jon,

In the BIOS, the only way to change the HD settings by hand is to make the
disk a 'type 47', all the others are preset. What you need to do is to go
into the setup and choose the first options screen - standard bios settings.
Use the arrow keys to choose the appropriate drive and hit enter. This
should then allow you to change the drive type using the 'page up/page down'
keys and, if you change it so what now says 'auto' says 'type 47', you will
be able to enter your own settings as recommended by the website.
If you get the settings wrong, the computer just won't see the drive but you
can go back to 'auto' and reboot and you will be back where you are now.
Most BIOSs also have an 'autodetect hard drives' option - somewhere on the
right half of the setup screen. HTH,
