is. But, at least with my version, you cannot, for example, move an entity
say 5 thousandths in the X direction without manually recalculating the
start/end points and essentially redefining the entity. Bobcad has a
"translate" function that allows you to easily do such things to one entity
at a time or, more important, with a whole collection of them.
With my version of Quickcad (6.0), the minute you select more than one
line, arc, etc., the coordinate boxes disappear and you're stuck moving
things around with the mouse only (with sloppy accuracy). Doing all the
calculations to move each entity that makes up a complex portion of a part
a precise distance is a nightmare in Quickcad. It takes 5 seconds in Bobcad.
At least for the kind of work I'm doing, there's no comparison. Bobcad
makes it easier to do precise coordinate work from scratch. Bobcad is
optimized to work in thousandths (or finer precision). Quickcad appears
to be optimized to work freehand with the mouse where such tolerances are
not required.
In other ways (particularly for non-CAM work), Quickcad is the superior
product. It has far more features and options for more elaborate drawings
than Bobcad does. I have encountered a few bugs in Quickcad, however.
