of URL's does NOT imply that the links so specified are public
domain. In fact unless web contents are specifically stated to be
public domain I believe the copyright laws apply. If nothing else one
would expect that common courtesy would dictate that you at least ASK
first to receive permission before posting what is obviously not
yours to divulge.

information about the products that I sell and use. While I am a
seller, I am also an avid hobbyist and get deeply involved in the
craft and in development of new solutions to CNC related problems. I
have no problems answering questions about Vector on a general level,
or to correct erroneous statements. However this is not the proper
forum for product support related questions. IMService maintains an
extensive forum for that purpose and discussions of the nitty gritty
how to of Vector should be done there , not here where there are
nearly 1000 people many of whom may not have the slightest interest.
You are free to ask questions, as I and others are free to answer you
or not, or to point you to possible sources for the answers that you
seek.
With respect to DDE, It stands for Dynamic Data Exchange, it is a
windows, interprocess communication protocol, it was developed before
COM. I would suggest the following reference for more detailed
information:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?
URL=/library/psdk/winbase/dde_4oit.htm
The Vector program has been set up to be a DDE server, which means
that you will be able to write a program in an external language ,
such as VB, C, Delphi, Powerbasic, VBA in spreadsheets, data
base, or any program that can function as a DDE client and control
the menus and drawing functions of Vector.
This tool is expected to be able to provide extensive part family
programming, and development of complex/custom drawing applications
that can today be accomplished with only data import activities,
using the Point-Line-Circle (PLC). Vfontz and Vcarvz both use the
PLC format, to send tool path geometry to Vector. The DDE is
expected to be able to provide more direct control over the Vector
functions. It can be somewhat likened to Lisp in Autocad or the basic
script language in DesignCad, or the VBA interface in Turbocad. The
appearance of one of these DDE processes happening is that of the
invisible man operating Vector, at very high speed. By changing a
value in a spread-sheet, a new and different or unique part drawing
could be generated in Vector.
This option should be released within the next month or so. It is
presently in Beta testing. Pricing has not been established, nor have
the CAM interaction capabilities, if any.
