Phil -

I realize the tone of my post was a little jumpy; I apologize if I
offended you.

I did follow the discussion you mentioned, and my initial feeling
was that it seems every time this discussion comes up in this
group, the "consensus" shifts. Maybe this is because there is so
much diversity that some are compelled to just sum it up for
others. I'm guilty of this sometimes. My point was that we all
have different perceptions of what the box should be doing, why
not just pick a commercially available complete and cohesive
solution, and "emulate" it. This, at the least, would help people
research and understand the proposed system based on real-world
demonstrated performance, and hopefully avoid the ramifications of
"design by committee".

Earlier on the subject of the pulse generator I suggested that the
interpolation should be handled in the "Black Box". There was
some
disagreement on where the motion calculations should be done - in
the PC or
the Box. The argument that was made is that the "Black Box"
should be as
simple as possible. I was referring to that discussion, go back
and read it
before you jump on me because you think I was somehow critical of
your
message.
