Hi Ron
With some spare time to kill at work, I've been working on a 'Brain Dead
Install' based around RedHat 6.2. The kernel is pre-patched and compiled for
general IDE, network, and pentium type of machines. Just need to compile the
August-11 EMC release and build an RPM. Along with writing a couple of help
files and beta testing the disks, It shouldn't be too long - Just give me a
couple of weeks or so. February is my target date, that gives me time to burn
a stack ready for NAMES.
Current spec is :-
2.2.17 kernel with rtlinux-3.0 pre-patched and compiled - NOT the RH supplied
one, but a virgin source.
2.4.0 & rtl-3.0 beta test RPM included (from rtlinux.org).
ALL emc source and pre compiled binaries.
The compilers and libraries required to recompile all the source code.
XFree86 4.0
KDE version 2
The basic linux tools - ftp, pppd, mc mtools etc.
But no games, ofiice software, or other gimicks such as sound.
IF there is more that sould be included, please let me know, But there is a
limit - I need to fit it all on to one disk.
Finally, I will not be putting an ISO image on a web site - the connection
time to upload it would take most of the weekend. Perhaps a web master would
do it from a CD.
Regards, Paul.
