Used to work in a sheetmetal shop, had worked my way into programming
for the Amada punch presses and new laser. Often would recieve CAD files
of sheet metal parts. When I would try to chain entities to generate
laser paths I'd sometimes find they wouldn't. Switching to a view 90
degrees apart would reveal lines hanging down in space all over the
place. Really amazing how sloppy some of these were. Won't mention the
name of the outfit, but they are still a significant name in video
switching and editing equipment, not some little 2-man outfit.
