let's put this way,I've paid 500 bucks for the grizzly and another
$500 to convert it to cnc,now, if I buy one of the modular tool
holders such as kwick swith it would end up costing me more on
tooling than the machine itself,for commercial aplications that would
be justified but,for a hobbie no way!
Considering that just the master holder goes for about $400.00 and
each end mill holder is about $120.00 there is no way that I can keep
up to it.
Plus it will hold the end mills about 3" away from the spindle.
Another option would be to get a blank mt3 and cut a 3/4X16 thread on
it and use the same end mill holders that sherline sells.
or take the spindle apart and make a new one with R8 taper.
What do you think?
