I've seen some mt3 shank collet chucks for er-25,32,40 and 180da collets
about $100 ea give or take from J&L ,collets are from $10 to $45 ea depending
on size ,type and weather conditions ;-)

you could leave the chuck in the spindle and
a] make shaft collers for the tools to stop off
b] bottom the tools out on the internal depth stop

should be just as good as any other tool holder
without ripping off too much of your Z axis

capacity on the collets is
180da up to 3/4
er-25 up to 5/8
er-32 up to 3/4
er-40 up to 1"
