I wish I knew what "Sollbruchstelle" means. If there's a crash,
then you should expect the probe to break off without damaging the
rest of the system. I don't think a "snap on" probe could be
easily made to be very stiff. I would just design in an extra
threaded coupling between the probe and the body (like a hex
standoff for electronics), with a "weakened" male thread going
into the body, and a means for spinning out the broken stud after
failure. This way, you would have to replace the coupling, which
should be cheaper than the body or the probe.

Perfect Design ! (had one of the lucky moments I could reach the
file area of egroups.) But a crash can always happen so You might
perhaps think of a "Sollbruchstelle"
(I donĀ“t know the english word) So that an easy to replace part of
the stylus should break in case of that.
