Hello List,
My web mail has been down or I would have responded sooner. I am glad to see some interested in my experiments at diamond bits.
The cutters that I use are Dremel products, made to rotate. They are the plated on type diamond chips. You MUST cool them somehow with water, use very light cuts or loss them. I also have a black diamond pointed bit also and it is designed for the Dremel engraving tool, it did not work in rotating mode at all. The plated cutters are actually called grinding pins at MSC and I have used some of their import stuff on ceramics with no luck. The Dremel bits I use are pointed and ball shapes purchased at Lowes and other hardware stores. I would like to find some dentists to donate some bits too.
