Did you do anything with your gibb adjustments? On mine the slot in the
gibb that the adjustment screw head rides in is wider than the screw head
and the gibb moves back and forth a bit everytime the axis changes
direction. Also there is no way to lock the adjustment down, so It wanders
around on it's own. I'm thinking about fabricating a screw clamp on the
opposite end of the gibb from the adjustment screw that would push the gibb
toward the adj. screw - I think that would lock everything in place.
I sure can see why this machine will benefit from ball screws. A couple
months ago I had .014 backlash on my X axis. last night I was checking it
out and the backlash is up to .017. The oil on the screw has a definite
bronze color so I'm guessing the nut is wearing away.
