I am using a AMD K6-350 with 32mb RAM for the system I run the controller
software on. I have used it under DOS 6.22, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and
am currently trying it under Win95.
For controller software I have been using DeskNC DOS version. I have briefly
tried DeskNC Windows version and Stepster, but have not used them
extensively enough to feel comfortable with them.
For a controller I am using a Camtronics 5 amp Bi-polar Chopper unit. The
power supply I am using with it is a surplus unit that puts out 24 VDC 20
amp with a 10 VDC 15 amp tap that I don't use.
The motors are Superior NEMA 34 steppers rated at 550 in/oz in a bi-polar
configuration. They have 200 step resolution shaft encoders attached, but I
am not using that part.
The machine is a Shoptask 3 in 1 unit.
For the creation of the G-code I am using a PII-400 with 256MB RAM and
Vector 7.0 as the CAD / CAM program. I sent the G-code to the controller
machine over a lan connection.
