Nice post from Sven which drives home the idea
that infrastructure and attitude are necessary to
make things work. Reminds me of a story about a
fellow that retired from FDA and contracted to the
UN to set up pesticide residue labs in third world
countries. He talked about the inability to do
decent work in an African country were the power
was only on 4 hrs a day and the goats wandered in
and out of the lab area. Some chance.
We are indeed spoiled by comparaison.
