Thank you for the pointer Fred.
I was given a copy of RH 5.2 free of charge, which, without giving much thought
to, I put in the drive and installed using the auto installer. Lost all my
.conf files when the HD was repartitioned and formatted. Perhaps I shouldn't
have done it at 4:00 in the morning. Finally re-installed Suse 6.1 and made
sure I have the correct tcl and tclx files included - hopefully I've also got
the email configured too.
No joy - loads of errors when I tried to patch the kernel, so I've now got RH
5.2 installed on another patition. Success, at least with the RT patch, not
with EMC though. One error I've spotted flashing up the screen is
/X11R6/bi/makedepend not found - do you have any advice ?
Please forgive me if these questions and problems seem basic or trivial to you,
but I'm new to this Linux thing. I'm more use to Dos and machine code (Z80/8031)
Regards, Paul.
