Yes, nothing like having a 'general protection fault' right in the middle of
cutting a workpiece with hundreds of hours of time in it with a many-tens-
of-dollars cutting tool. I've never had a system crash with Linux-EMC.
The old Xwindows server had a problem where it would occasionally
lose the connection between the keyboard, mouse, etc and the user
programs. Even during that, EMC managed as gracefully as possible,
with the real time motion control coming to a stop and then holding
position until you hit the hardware E-stop button. Since I put the
updated Xwindows server in, I have had no trouble with it, in about
9 months of operation, I think.

But, installing and configuring everything has been a bit of a pain.
