Hi Jon.

Not all Linux releases are the same either. I bought the Suse Linux package
because it said 2.0.36 kernel was included - I must say I like the installer
and the extra bells and whistles that came on 5 CDs. It all worked first time
after installing and setting up Xwindows, apart from a small headache setting
up the dialer and internet connection.
The RH 5.2 on the other hand - no info on what files were being loaded with
each package, and it has taken three days to get the mouse working with
Xwindows. Might have helped if I had a printed manual with the disk ( I know
there are DOC files on the disk ).
At least I've got RH installed and EMC compiled now. I'm glad I had tried Suse
first, otherwise I may have given up on Linux altogether, but I can see how
muchmore powerfull and stable it is than MS windows !
