Thanks for the reply, I knew MDI stod for manual data input. I saw
this machine but it was a few years ago. I got the impression [ may
be wrong ] that it was like a manual but with a console on it. The
guy who told me about it was under the impression it could be used as
either a manual or CNC on 2 axis. Problem is it's sealed bids by
Monday and I might not get in to see it first. Knowing this college
it will be well maintained. I bought a CNC lathe from them two years
ago with 400 hours on it. My truck has more scratches on it than this
has <grin>
