There are some of the parameters that can be edited from within the Xemc
interface. You select the axis you want to edit by clicking on it and then
you go to I think it is the View menu and select configuration.

Xemc does allow you to edit (and verify) a g-code program within the gui.
When in Auto mode hit the letter "E" to edit. It will bring up the dialog
box for selecting a g-code program defaulted to the currently loaded
program. Once you make a selection you get a simple editor that allows
making changes and setting any line as the start point for the program. With
a program loaded in Auto mode you can also hit "V" and the program will be
parsed and if there are any syntax errors or invalid moves you will get
error messages showing the line number and the offending code.
