Hoyt, go back through the archives and look at what we are talking about
here. EMC is a program that runs under the Linux operating system. EMC is
a G-code interperter that controls servo or stepper motors and is available
free from the government at: http://www.isd.mel.nist.gov/projects/emc/ . I
have been running all summer on my CNC'd mill/drill and it works great.
Dos programs are fine ( I own Maxnc Deluxe and have used dancam and
stepster) but I feel that this system has a lot more potential. Fred
Proctor is on this list and he is one of the authors of the program. He
has been very receptive to comments , suggestions and requests for changes
to the program.
